The B League’s finest…

Saturday marked the end of another year of Shebeen rugby, and since 2007 proved to be our most successful to date, we were obliged to celebrate accordingly.  But before a copious amount of beverages, tone-deaf singing and controversial South Africa vs Zimbabwe boat races, the chairperson Gary Fouche and vice-chairperson Mark Kritzinger handed out the following awards:

1.  MVP – Wesley van Heerden
2. Most Points – Tyron Fouche
3. Spirit Award – Siv Ngesi
4. Bounce around awards – Milf Lindemann and Chris Vella
5. Farewell – Dave Kenchington and Tim Vann
6. Dedication – Brett Edwards
7. Hand off – Anthony ‘Moby’ Burns
8. Dog collar award – Danny Couldridge
9. Honorary Plaque for contribution to the club – Rolf Fitschen
(and a few others that have escaped memory)

The awards to Tim and DK acknowledge all they’ve given to the club; Tim since he was in Grade 10 and DK over the past two years. Good luck to both of them and watch this space for updates on an up and coming scrumhalf making his mark in the UK…

  1. Props to the organisers for putting together such a well run evening. Lol at Chris for handing out flowers to the girls.

Well done boys! It was a fun occasion. I can confirm that I was suffering from the “one too many tequila syndrome” the following morning. Thanks for making the girls part of the evening by handing out chocolates and flowers. Boo to stinky for laughing at Chris for handing out flowers.

Thank you for getting someone other than Sparky to cook the sheep. It WAS cooked. I look forward to one more playing season in 2008. Unless we suddenly have a glut (or is that a gut) of props coming through!
