St Patrick’s Day, Saturday 17 March 2007

Ticket Sales: ON SALE NOW (first come first on the bus). Please note that tickets are going fast – with over 30 sold already. Also, tickets will not be given to individuals unless they pay cash – simply booking doesn’t guarantee a place so make sure you pay ASAP.

Being sponsored by Guinness, it would be a sin for us to miss Ireland’s biggest excuse for a party. So, the Shebeen Boys present a St Paddy’s Day Party to remember or not (no driving, so you can do the drinking). Hop on the St Patrick’s Party Bus and enjoy a fun night out with all your mates at some of Cape Town’s famous drinking landmarks.

Cost: R100. This cost includes stops at Forries, Fireman’s Arms, Ferrymans, Quay 4, Mitchell’s, Catu and The Dubliner, some alcohol on the bus [Guinness, Lager and Cider], shooters as well as prizes for best dressed, loudest partygoer, etc.

Beer: Beer will be available to purchase on the bus should you finish your free allocation.

Starting Point: Springbok Pub, Newlands, 5pm sharp.

   Good for you!Guinnesssssssss

If you’re interested in joining the party please contact Rolf.

Did you know?

FACT 1: St Patrick – patron saint of Ireland – was actually born in Wales around AD 385. He died on March 17 in AD 461 and that day has been commemorated ever since as St Patrick’s Day

FACT 2: Guinness is good for you! At just 198 calories, a smooth and creamy pint of Irish Guinness has fewer calories than a pint of skimmed milk or orange juice. Making it the ideal drink for celebrating St Patrick’s on the 17 March – even if you’re watching your weight!

FACT 3: Patrick was the son of a Roman soldier in Southern Wales. He was kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery in Ireland – where he remained captive for approximately 6 years.

FACT 4: Roasted barley is what gives Guinness its rich ruby-red colour.

FACT 5: There will be drinks and entertainment on the bus.

FACT 6: Legend has it that St Patrick banished snakes from Ireland, that’s why there are no indigenous species to be found on the Emerald Isle.

  1. We’ve had a very good response so far and have decided to hire a 60-seater bus. More information to follow… along with costs.

  2. As of today the departure and ending point will be Springbok Bar in Newlands. We needed a big parking lot as well as a finishing point that’ll still be open when we return after midnight. Approximate departure time: 5pm.
