Rugby World Cup – Thank God no Straeuli

At last…

I’ve been waiting over 4 years for this moment. Actually, it’s more like 8 years – since I knew, with absolute certainty, that we’d never win the last world cup in the land of the sheep-shagging convicts, especially with Rudolph “Staaldraad” Straeuli as dictator-in-chief. But let’s put all the raw eggs, naked fighting and sitting in a cave behind us. “The Pirate” Krige has long since retired – arrrrrgh thank GOD for that – and there is a dawn of new hope.

Jake White announced his team to take on Samoa yesterday – and with absolutely no bias I’m proud to see 8 Sharks boys in the 22 (ok I’m biased), but I on a real note I’m convinced this is going to be our year. The team oozes talent – we have a few players who are rated number one in their positions (Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Bryan Habana) backed up by others that are not far off number one, add to that some exciting young talent….

    How dare you insult the hardest man SA rugby has seen. Corne was the frikking business! His head tells the tales! Last week richie McCaw said he played on of his first test against SA and had to mark Krige. He said he had never felt so abused and that only then did he realise that that was what international rugby was about!
    Don’t ever insult Corne in my presence! EVER!
