Bowling… and drinking

Shebeen Boys: Bob-sled may have lost all their games last night but they did pull one out of the bag by winning the Newbie Bowls Lottery – a whopping R450! So we’ll take that as a victory over The Fourths.com - yay to us. Ok we won’t, but damn it was good hearing Chuckles (of those raggidy Fourths) read out a Shebeen victory. Even better though was having the Bob-sledders buy us all a beer with their winnings. Well done boys. Good form. We owe our hangovers to you Gazza, Starvin and Mystery Guest!

Talking of form. It’s a pity those self-same lottery winners couldn’t take their luck onto the green. After losing their first game to Norfolk-n-Chance they took on last year’s major losers the Lubricnuts. The Lubricnuts’ new summer signing, Kirsty, showing just why Marcos believes in her so much! Maybe “The Great Master K” can help her new team, traditionally the players with the least amount of talent, climb off the foot of the table. Good luck to her! 

The fortunes of the other two Shebeen entrants, namely The First Wives’ Club and Shebeen Boy: Train-spotting, were mixed. Skip Mojo Jojo led her ladies admirably with some stonking bowling, which sawto Mojo, Ooh la ooh la la and Penny Poo celebrating an inaugural victory against MUR + SUK before coming up against the undeniable favourites in the group. After inititally being super-unbelievably-mega erratic in their first game (in which they somehow snuck a win) Kentucky, Treebeard and Fitscho [Shebeen Boys: Train-spotting] became super-quite-conceivably-mega erratic and enjoyed success in their second game (against the First Wives’ Club) too.
